Staff Engineer

 

Global Environmental Network, Inc.  is seeking a Staff Engineer in our Pasadena office. The successful applicant will be working with Project Managers/Geologists/Senior Engineers on subsurface hydro-geologic site assessments.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field work including remediation system O&M, sampling, troubleshooting, and repairs to gain familiarity with remediation systems
  • Field visits to QA/QC technician and subcontractor work
  • Coordinate utilities (SCE, Verizon, SoCal Gas) installations and removals
  • Enter remediation system field data into tables, prepare remediation system section of quarterly reports, prepare monthly or quarterly groundwater discharge reports
  • Monitor and track remediation system effectiveness and progress, monitor intermediate and effluent discharge concentrations to ensure that systems are in permit compliance
  • Prepare System Performance Evaluations
  • Track and renew SCAQMD, NPDES, and POTW discharge permits, meet with regulators in the field for audits and inspections
  • Assist the Senior Engineer in projects involving remediation, design, permitting, and construction oversight
  • Assist with remediation system start-up and remediation system repairs/enhancements
  • Comply with all of GENI- and client-specific Health and Safety requirements
  • Assist with preparation of cost estimates for system upgrades/enhancements of repairs
  • Assist with Soil Vapor Extraction Tests and Aquifer Pump Tests and Take ownership of and responsibility for sites

 

Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • BS in Engineering, Civil or Environmental
  • 5 years experience
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent presentation skills and professional appearance
  • Sound decision making and problem solving abilities
  • Detail oriented and strong organization skills
  • Proven ability to perform in a high volume, time sensitive/deadline environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at a given time
  • Ability to work and contribute to a team environment
  • Proficient with several computer applications including MS Word and Excel, AutoCad experience a plus
  • Must meet company defined, pre-employment physical, alcohol/drug screens
  • Valid California Driver’s License
