The Cal/OSHA 30-Hour Construction teaches Cal/OSHA regulations and standards as they apply to the construction industry. Taught by authorized Cal/OSHA Outreach Trainers, this course covers practices of identifying, reducing, eliminating and reporting on-site hazards. It also teaches safety awareness and assists supervisors in recognizing and reducing risks in the workplace.
This program will assist employers in training supervisors for competent person status. The training covers a variety of construction safety and health hazards which a worker may encounter at a construction site. Cal/OSHA recommends this training as an orientation to occupational health and safety.
Training should emphasize hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention.
The class topics may include but are not limited to Introduction to Cal/OSHA, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Scaffolds, Tools, Welding, Fire Protection, Ergonomics, Cranes, Derricks, Hoists, Materials handling, Ladder, Health and Hazards in Construction, Safety and Health programs, and more.
